Blessing of the Shoes on Saturday
As many of you know, we worked very hard to come up with a mission statement about “inspiring athletes and connecting communities.” I can’t think of a better illustration of that philosophy than the Blessing of the Shoes ceremony at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels downtown. On Saturday at 10:00 am, Deacon Manny Martinez will bless LA Marathon runners’ shoes on the plaza at the Cathedral. In addition, he’ll be ringing the church bells on race day as runners travel past on Mile 3 of the route. Do not miss this unique and special opportunity!
