T-Shirt Design Competition Winner Announced

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a winner! This year the Honda LA Marathon presented by K-Swiss held our first-ever T-Shirt Design Competition on 99designs.com. While over 250 unique designs were submitted online we narrowed the field to 5 finalists and put them up for a public vote on the homepage of lamarathon.com. During the 2 week voting period over 2,000 votes accumulated for the different designs which came from Indonesia, Germany, Grand Cayman Islands and Romania.

The winning design was created by Jose Carvajal from the design firm Jacober + Associates out of Miami, Florida. Jacober + Associates will be awarded a $295 prize for their work and the design will be featured on t-shirts sold at the Marathon’s 2-day Expo at Dodger Stadium. Can’t believe they waited until now to come up with a logo. Wish it was from someone who was from Los Angeles. Go runners. We’ll be handing out water at Mile 16. I ran LA in 2000, 2001, 2002 and we rode as a family the last few years. I still have most of my shirts, of course.

Hey Name Girl– we have had an official logo lockup for quite a while. This t-shirt was a special contest we held and we merely asked the designers to incorporate one version of our logo.
