Honda is thrilled to sponsor the L.A. Marathon in 2009, which will mark its
14th consecutive year as a major sponsor. This year, first-place marathon
winners will be awarded with a new Honda Accord EX V-6 in addition to
the cash prize. 2009 will also mark the thirteenth year that Acura, Honda’s
luxury division, will sponsor the Acura L.A. Bike Tour, the nation’s biggest
cycling event.
Honda is one of the world’s leading producers of automobiles, motorcycles

began operations in North America in Los Angeles, CA, with the establishment
in 1959 of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Honda’s first overseas
subsidiary. Using domestic and globally sourced parts, Honda began
assembling motorcycles in America in 1979, with U.S. automobile
manufacturing starting in 1982. Honda now employs more than 26,000 Americans
