Imagine a race where hope marks the finish line. Make it a reality when you join the St. Jude Heroes team for the ASICS LA Marathon. This is your opportunity to not only achieve your personal fitness goals, but also to fundraise to help St. Jude achieve the larger goal of finding cures and saving the lives of children battling cancer and other deadly diseases. It’s your race. It’s their victory! The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
Team Life without Lupus is proud to be an official charity of the LA Marathon. Our team provides athletes with an opportunity to make new friends and reach their health and fitness goals while helping others in the community. In exchange for training and support, you help raise money towards critical patient services in the Greater Los Angeles area. You can help families cope with this disease as we work towards a cure.
TEAM TO END AIDS (T2), the endurance event training program of AIDS Project Los Angeles(APLA) is dedicated to improving the lives of those who are affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. We do this by raising funds to support the programs of APLA. Through our fundraising efforts we raise awareness and encourage every day people to get involved in creating an AIDS free generation. Through endurance sport and social activities we celebrate not only our accomplishments, but we honor the lives of the men, women and children whom HIV/AIDS has taken while supporting those who are affected by HIV.
Team World Vision offers a fun and powerful way for you to get in shape and fight global poverty. We run to provide clean water for children and families in Africa. In countries like Zambia, less than 10% have access to good water. Runners understand water –without it, no one survives. Women and children walk on-average 10 kilometers to collect water that carries life-threatening diseases. Children miss school, and the number one source for kidnapping is the route for water. Just $50 provides one child water for life. Our goal: one child per mile. Yes it’s intense, but we can do it! That’s 26 people with access to clean water. That’s 26 children who are now in school, who are no longer at risk for malaria or guinea worm.
Team In Training (TNT) consists of runners, walkers, cyclists, triathletes and hikers who raise money to help fund breakthrough treatments that are saving lives today. Since its beginning in 1988, TNT participants have raised over $1.3 billion for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them – and immunotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer – are examples of the kinds of advances being funded by people like you. Join us for an unforgettable experience, exciting events, and memories that will last a lifetime as we change the landscape of blood cancer. We are on the brink of historic breakthroughs that will literally change people’s lives. We cannot stop now.
ThinkCure! is a community-based organization that raises funds to support collaborative cancer research at City of Hope and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Cancer is the diagnosis we all fear most for ourselves and our families, and cancer affects millions of people right here in Los Angeles. Which is why we fund cancer research done by the best researchers in the world right here in Los Angeles. We fund collaborative research because we know that it would not be done without our support, and we know that in this era of “Team Science”, as the National Cancer Institute calls it, collaboration is necessary to progress against cancer. As the official charity of the Los Angeles Dodgers, we believe that just as baseball unites families and unites Los Angeles, so, too, can our fight against cancer unite us.
