RUNNING FOR CHARITY
The whole idea of running for a good cause revolves around a runner competing in a marathon and asking friends, family and others to ‘sponsor’ them for charity. People will make a promise to give money to a charity runner if they finish the marathon. Going the ‘extra mile’ and hooking up with a charity not only helps secure much needed funds but also ensures you have support from other fellow fundraisers and guarantees you won’t be alone on race day.
If you run in memory of a family member, to support a friend, or because of your own personal experience, this is the best motivation for running and raising funds. With a charity and your cause relying on you there’s less chance of you failing to perform the right amount of training and much more chance of you making it to the start and reaching the finish line.
