Application Process

APPLICATION PROCESS

The structure of the Official Charity Program is simple – nonprofit organizations recruit supporters, friends, family etc. to train for and run the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, or the LA Big 5K while raising funds for their organization! It is the responsibility of the charity to recruit and manage the team, ensure each team member is engaged and connected to their cause and meets their fundraising goal. In turn, the Conqur Endurance Group puts on a world-class event and provides support, guidance and marketing opportunities along the way.

We select partner charities through a competitive application process. Please review the application checklist to ensure your organization is eligible. All partner charities must:

  • Qualify as a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, and provide documentation of status
  • Been in operation for a minimum of two (2) years
  • Commit to registration and fundraising minimums set by the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon
  • Have organizational resources in place to support a comprehensive endurance team fundraising program.
  • If accepted, a staff or representative should be able to attend Charity Kick-Off event on July 26 in Los Angeles, CA

    • July 19 Notification of Acceptance
    • July 26 Charity Kick-Off - 10 AM - 11:30 AM
    • July 26 Charity Boot Camp* - 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
    • August 31 Registration Opens
    • September 10 Santa Monica Classic 5k/10k

    The Charity Kick-Off Event is a mandatory event for all organizations that are accepted in to the program.

    *New this year, Charity Boot Camp will be a 3 hour educational workshop that is mandatory for all NEW charities, or returning charities who are required to attend as a condition of their acceptance.

    INFORMATION SESSIONS

    We will be hosting information sessions for interested charity partners to learn more about the application process and the program. Please consider joining us on one of the following dates by signing up below.

    • Thursday, July 6 10:00 AM – call in
    • Monday, July 10 10:00 AM – in person

    In-person sessions will be held at 871 Figueroa Terrace, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Dial-in session details will be emailed to you.
