The Strip is known for its collection of boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs that are routinely emphasized in the world’s best lists, luring an eclectic crowd from all corners of the world. Since the 1960s, the area has transformed into a haven for music groups who perform at clubs including Whisky A Go Go, Pandora’s Box, the London Fog, and Viper Room.

Whisky A Go Go

Opened in 1964, Whisky A Go Go was a haven for some of music’s most talented acts. From rock to punk to heavy metal, the club stood at the center of many musical trends. Though the club was advertised as a discotheque, implying it only offered recorded music, the venue opened with a live band led by Johnny Rivers.
