Thank you for signing up to volunteer at the 2014 ASICS LA Marathon! With the marathon just days away, we hope you are as excited as we are to help over 24,000 participants as they run the Stadium to the Sea course – 26.2 miles from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica and LA Big 5k!

March 9th is not just important because it is race day, it is also the day we “Spring Forward” for Daylight Savings Time.
Make sure you plan ahead and adjust your clock ahead one hour before you go to sleep! As you create your “race day checklist” of all the items you need for the big day, add this to the list now.
Important- we have increased security measures at the Start and Finish. Anyone bringing in a bag will be searched. We encourage volunteers to leave bags at home or in your car as to expedite the lines getting through security.
Backpacks will not be allowed in the Goodie bag area of the Expo. Please leave any personal items in your car or bring in a small purse.
What to wear:
Please check the weather forecast as we get closer to race day and dress accordingly. As of Monday, March 2nd, it looks like it will be in the low 80s and sunny all weekend!
All registered volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt upon checking in to their first shift. Please dress comfortably and wear closed toed athletic shoes. If you are at a water station or the finish line, please bring sunblock and a hat.
EXPO volunteers (Information, Goodie Bags, Bib Pick Up, 5k Registration, Volunteer Check in)- Friday and Saturday, March 7th and 8th:
Volunteer Check in will be inside the LA Convention Center, West Hall. Once you enter the Expo you will see the Volunteer tent to your left.
Volunteer parking is provided free only at the L.A. Live West Garage Lot W located at 1005 W. Chick Hearn Court, Los Angeles (NOT the LACC West Hall Parking). You will need to print your assignment or confirmation email in order to receive a parking pass at the entrance.

Water Station volunteers:
Meet your water station captain at the water station location you are assigned, you do not need to come to the expo or volunteer check in at the start or finish. You will receive a volunteer t-shirt upon checking in. Visit the following link for your location:
Parking: Unfortunately, we are not able to provide parking. Reach out to your water station captain to see if they have any suggestions. Please read all street signs before parking.
Start Line (Start Line, Information, SL Food & Water, Clothing Check In) volunteers:
Unless otherwise noted by your coordinator, you will receive your t-shirt upon checking in at the Volunteer Check in tent near the Start Line in Lot G. Warm drinks and pastries will be available prior to your shift, so plan to arrive early. Remember to set your clock ahead one hour for daylight savings!

LA Big 5K Volunteer Information:
Finish Line (Finish Line, PF&F, Late PF&F, Volunteer Check in, Information, Media, Clothing Check Out, Massage) volunteers:
Unless otherwise noted by your coordinator, you will receive your t-shirt upon checking in at the Volunteer Check in tent near the Finish Line. The Volunteer Check in tent is located on Ocean Ave, just north of Arizona., on the west side of the street. Print your assignment and bring it with you to access the volunteer parking lot and finish line secure zone. Click here for parking instructions
