Our fearless leader serves as the face of the marathon, leading the LA MARATHON LLC team as Chief Executive Officer. When she's not in front of the camera, you can find her putting 19+ years of industry experience to good work as she motivates her team and elevates the many properties of LA MARATHON LLC.
The Shaker Heights, Ohio native made a big splash in her first year on the job, spearheading the city-wide effort in successfully securing Los Angeles as the host of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials from the Men’s and Women’s Marathon. Tracey and her team went on to sell-out the 2014 ASICS LA Marathon, providing a world class experience to over 26,000 runners and further solidifying the marathon as a must run global race.
The former high school All-American swimmer and 1988 U.S. Olympic Trials participant clearly has a knack for succeeding. In 2010, Russell was fittingly awarded the Women’s Running magazine Trailblazer Award, a national award presented each year to a woman in the running industry who has been a leader and a pioneer and has served the sport with distinction. The award is one of many accolades she earned in her six years with the Atlanta Track Club and 12 years with the Metropolitan Richmond Sports Backers.
The scuba-diving enthusiast has wasted little time getting accustomed to life in southern California. She enjoys running and yoga and gives of her time by serving on the board of directors for the Los Angeles Sports Council and Students Run LA as well as the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission Advisory Board.
